Prime Minister Stephen Harper attended Monday’s unveiling of the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens. Harper spoke of his love for the building and childhood memories attending Toronto Maple Leafs games.

“I first came here when I was ten years old. It’s one of those things that you remember it as if it was the day that it happened – I had never seen a place like it,” he said.

“Now I was all the way down there of course, [but] looking up I couldn’t believe people actually walked up all those stairs.”
