Buggin’ out in the Quad

By Dylan Freeman-Grist

The annual Bug Push is ongoing in Kerr Quad, and will be continuing well into the night.

The rally, put on by the Ryerson Engineering Student Society (RESS), is a fundraising event that aims to drive money for charity. This year’s recipient is the Terry Fox Foundation.

For the whole day a car is being pushed up the slope of the Quad and then ridden down the other side, with the majority of the heavy lifting being done by engineering students.

“This has been around for a long time, longer than I can remember,” said Obaid Ullah, the vice-president communications for RESS who was helping run the event. “We’re going to be here for 24 hours and everyone is welcome to drop by.”

The drive hopes to raise around $3,000 this year. Students interested in dropping off money may head to the Quad where RESS has a tent set up outside the main entrance to Kerr Hall East.
