The Ryerson Rams have another all-star to add to the list, as varsity men’s starting pitcher Kevin MacDonald had been selected to play in the 2015 OUA/OCAA all-star game, to be played at the Rogers Centre on May 9.

“You obviously want to be recognized for you’re play, whatever team you’re with, so seeing that I’m the representative for Ryerson it proved that I did what I wanted to do as a rookie,” said MacDonald.

This season MacDonald threw 37 innings in six starts. He led the Rams pitching staff with an earned run average (ERA) of 2.68, ranking him fifth in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) amongst pitchers with more than 30 innings.

In a press release, head coach Ben Rich called MacDonald a “complete player” and said that “He has three pitches that he can throw for a strike in any count, and his confidence on the mound helps him get the strong results that we saw last year.”

With to his strong performance, MacDonald was third in voting for OUA rookie of the year. The OUA roster was based on voting by OUA coaches, and the OUA’s best will go up against the best Ontario College Athletics Association players, after the Jays game with an approximate start time of 5:30 p.m.
