Student money blown on RyeSAC bus trip

By Owen Ferguson

RyeSAC spent over $950 to send 14 students to participate in the Days of Action protest in North Bay this past weekend.

Most of the money was spent renting a 48-person school bus and providing the driver with hotel accommodation.

Gord Tanner, RyeSAC  v.p. education, organized the event. He said the bus was ordered long before the protest day.

When Tanner knew the bus wasn’t going to be full, he called other universities and local social organizations, offering them space on the bus.

The remaining seats were filled by students from other universities, and members of the International Socialists and the Ontario Coalition against Poverty.
