Get off the Web and into my car

By Kathryn Dunmore

Students looking for a ride to Ryerson now have another option.

Frank Cappadocia, student programs facilitator and manager of Peer Support Network (PSN), in working on a Web site for commuters. He hopes to have it running in the next couple of weeks after all the kinks are solved.

“Public transit is the best route, but it’s not always a reality, especially for students in the 905 area code,”  he said. “There’s a definite need for [carpooling] because of the cost of parking and gas.”

The carpooling site is also available to staff and faculty.

Those looking for a ride to school can surf the site, once ready, at www.ryerson.ca/studentservices/rideboard and fill out an online application.

Of course, the site needs drivers and cars.
