Picture girls eating tampons, boys humping chairs and everybody getting naked. Imagine the raucousness of a WWF show and the energy of a rock concert, throw in some hypnosis and you’ve got the X-rated spectacle Tony Lee is bringing to the Hub in Jorgenson Hall Friday night.It’ the hottest ticket on the Frosh week calendar and a night Lee assures you won’t want to miss.
“Dig deep down in your mind and think of experiencing the worst things ever done in hypnosis,” Lee says. “We’ve done it all.” By the “worst things,” Lee means letting go of all inhibitions and allowing him to guide you through a few hours of sexual acts, lewd behaviour and plenty of foul language in front of hundreds of your peers.
Lee promises the show stays within the parameters of good taste. “We wouldn’t belittle someone to the point of embarrassment where they can’t face themselves.” He does guarantee, however, that he will make the guys cry from PMS and the girls experience the extended pleasure of a male orgasm. Lee jokes that he got into hypnosis because he couldn’t get laid. It turned out to be a wise career choice. He says he sometimes earns a seven-digit salary, a far cry from what he made as a massage therapist 16 years ago.
It was then he learned about hypnosis and began touring a show on the university and college circuit. It didn’t take him long to realize that it was more fun to get people to moon the crowd, pose as Playboy bunnies and masturbate in public than to make them cluck like chickens, so he developed an X-rated version of his performance. He has since entertained about four million people in Canada.
Lee swears up and down that hypnosis is legitimate. He says it’s a relaxed state of mind that makes people more susceptible to the power of suggestion. “People put themselves under hypnosis,” Lee says. “The hypnotist is simply a guide.” A guide with a dirty mind. Lee neer stops performing. Even though he does 300 shows a year in Canada and in the United Kingdom, he never tires of making students in sell-out campus pubs horny.
The show has become so entertaining that Lee now films his performances – including Friday’s show – for an upcoming television series that will be internationally distributed. He has ben performing at Ryerson since the early 90’s and, like the crowd pleaser he is, calls the Ryerson crowd “the most kick-ass of all.”
“It’s great to see people of every ethnic group, age and sexual preference uniting in a room to laugh at the same thing.” He promises something for everyone, unless of course you’re on the sensitive side. “If you’re easily offended, stay the fuck home.”
