Video: Gould Street Carnival

After years of rumbling, grumbling and student activism, Gould Street finally closed earlier this month. Yes, it’s only for a yearlong pilot project, but that didn’t stop the school from throwing one hell of a carnival to celebrate. Hundreds of people filled the corner of Gould Street and Victoria Street to partake in everything from pizza and ice cream sandwiches to granola bars and apples, all temptingly priced at $0. Ryerson community members were also treated to live dance performances and invited to participate in a soccer shoot out, among other things.
