Man killed amidst Nuit Blanche activities

Two people were stabbed early Sunday morning as Nuit Blanche festivities took place across Toronto.

The first, a 19-year-old male who has been identified as Rameez Khalid, was stabbed around 2 a.m. and transported to hospital for life-threatening injuries but, was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police believe that Khalid was a participant in a pop-up rave not affiliated with Nuit Blanche and got into a fight. After leaving the rave with a friend, a group of men approached Khalid at which point the teen was stabbed.

The stabbing took place on Richmond Street in front of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

Police from 52 division have identified the suspect as Emanuel Lozada, 22, who is wanted on a second-degree murder charge.

The second, a 15-year-old boy, was stabbed after midnight at Yonge and Dundas Square, suffering minor injuries.

Nuit Blanche, an annual Toronto based dusk to dawn art festival, bringing thousands of tourists and citizens out onto the streets to experience the city being turned into a extensive art gallery.
