Arrest made on Gould Street

A man was arrested late Monday night after he allegedly assaulted a female student walking down Victoria street.

At approximately 10 p.m. on Monday, November 11 the alleged victim reported walking by 297 Victoria Street, when she noticed the subject who was walking northbound yelling aimlessly.

Soon after the subject and victim made eye contact, the subject walked towards the victim and swung his right hand towards the woman’s head.

The woman managed to push the subject away but, was struck at the top of her head.

The subject then went north on Victoria Street turning on Gould Street heading towards the student campus centre (SCC).

Ryerson University security then approached the subject on Gould Street and arrested him after determining he was banned from the Ryerson campus. The man was then turned over to Toronto Police Services who took over the investigation.

The student was not physically injured in the incident, declining medical assistance.
