Arrest made following reports of ‘indecent behaviour’ in Ryerson’s library

By Sierra Bein

Ryerson Security and Emergency Services arrested a man on campus on Friday Aug. 29 who may be implicated in a previous incident.

According to a bulletin posted on its website, a community member notified security of a man sitting underneath a table beside her in the library.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. the victim saw the subject underneath the table next to her, screamed at the subject and notified security.

The subject had previously been banned from campus in an unrelated incident.

Ryerson Security released the man to Toronto police, who have since taken over the investigation.

Security believes the man in custody was involved in an Aug. 20 incident where a victim claimed someone was tapping her feet. She said she noticed the man under the desk beside her and began packing up her belongings. The man continued to touch her feet as she did so, according to the bulletin.
