Ryerson professor to host pajama party

By Robert Mackenzie

As the first week of classes comes to a close, Ryerson students are looking forward to professor Katie Ribbs’s Saturday night pajama party.

Ribbs, who invited the students in both of her history classes, came up with the idea as a way to get her students comfortable around each other. “The party will bring these kids closer together,” said Ribbs. “I think these new friendships will help the students in my classes, whether it be with group work, or just being confident to answer questions during lectures.”

Ian Costly, a student in Ribbs’s History of Tattoos course, can’t wait for the Saturday night festivities. “I have my pajama outfit planned out and everything,” said Costly, who will be bringing chips and dip to the party. “I hope we get to play Scattegories, I kill at that game.”

Ribbs says that after games and snacks, guests will decide whether to watch Transformers 3, Milk, Burlesque or Meet the Parents as the night’s feature film. “I hope they pick Burlesque, it’s been so long since I’ve seen Cher in a movie,” said Ribbs.

Students will be arriving at Ribbs’s house between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
