FUSE dominates Board of Governors election

By Jacob Dubé

The entire FUSE slate was elected on the Board of Governors (BOG) Friday afternoon, beating out the other candidates by at least double the votes.

Mariam Nouser of Ryerson’s Muslim Students’ Association, Cassandra Myers, equity commissioner at the Ryerson Students’ Union and Victoria Morton, also running for vice-president education on the RU Impact slate, were elected to the BOG with more than 1,200 votes each.

The FUSE slate ran on the platform of increased mental wellness services on campus, expanded multi-faith prayer space and more diverse food options on campus.

Gowry Sivapathasundaram was elected as BOG staff member, and Chris MacDonald was elected BOG faculty member.

The election ran from Feb. 29 to March 3.
