App of the Week: Flipp

By Sylvia Lorico

Looking for the best deal? Available for free on Android and iOS, Flipp is an app that allows users to browse flyers and coupons. It also lets users add loyalty cards and create their own shopping lists in the app.

Users enter their  postal codes, then the app generates a selection of flyers from stores within their areas.

You can sort through the flyers in alphabetical order, by date of release or by the featured flyers in the area. Featured flyers are those released by stores with popular brand names or items (such as Best Buy). The app also gives a search option to narrow down specific stores or flyers based on categories. The expiration date of each flyer is listed beside the store name so that users will know how long sales will be active.

Under the coupon section of the app, Flipp generates a list of all active coupons and matches each coupon to a certain store. It notes the average price of an item at that particular store and shows the price of the item after applying the coupon. Similar to the flyer section, users can find deals based on category. These categories range from household to beauty deals.

The “shopping list” category lets users create their own customized list of items. Beside each item, the app includes flyers and information on best prices from stores in a given area. As well, users can clip items from online flyers that will save onto the shopping list.

Other features include the ability to “favourite” sections of a flyer and a print option for coupons.

Flipp makes coupon-cutting  accessible and easy for users who are on the go.
