A Ryerson instructor is facing more fraud charges after an initial year-long investigation found a Peterborough-based non-profit organization was defrauded of $200,000.
On Oct. 19 Darlene Evans, an instructor in the school of child and youth care, was charged for the second time with fraud after a further investigation found that between 2005 and 2014 the organization was defrauded of more funds totalling more than $100,000, according to a Peterborough Police Service media release.
Evans, who has served as the executive director of three child and youth serving organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough, was also charged in April with three counts of fraud over $5,000 after the initial investigation found that between 2009 and 2015, the accused allegedly wrote and cashed several unauthorized cheques.
