What’s coming up at Ryerson in 2017?

BRAMPTON EXPANSION

Ryerson University, in partnership with Sheridan College, has made a formal proposal to the Ontario government to expand its campus to the city of Brampton.

The proposal included an expression of interest to have an “educational and innovation hub” in Brampton.

There will be an announcement about the proposals near the end of 2017.

SIGN INSTALLATION

Ryerson announced on March 8 that the installation of the Sam the Record Man sign is expected to begin this spring and be completed late in 2017.

Sign-making company Sunset Neon has been hired to restore and install the sign on the roof of the Public Health Building on Victoria Street, where it will be visible from Yonge-Dundas Square.

It’s about fucking time.

LAW PROGRAM

A new juris doctor law program could be coming to Ryerson in 2020. The Academic Standards Committee as well as the Senate need to approve the process in 2017.

The aim is to produce practice-ready legal professionals with the knowledge and transferable skills required to compete in a rapidly changing profession,” according to Ryerson’s letter of intent. The proposal has been in the works since 2007.
