TTC sells lost articles

By Amy Bourne

Cameras, toys and even a laptop computer are some of the goodies up for grabs in the semi annual TTC silent auction of lost items.

Wednesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. visitors can peruse the items in the lost-articles-room of the Bay Subway station for $10 and bid on one or all of the 33 lots of various sizes containing new and used items.

Victor Buttigieg, supervisor of lost articles for the TTC, says he can’t believe the things people leave on the subway. “The most outrageous thing to me [are] the large articles. Someone left a brand new chair still in a box. Others leave bicycles. We even have a pair of skis this year.”

All funds raised from the sale will go to the TTC’s general revenue.
