Isber stands alone

By Don McHoull

Unless a tide of opposition rises against him, Derek Isber will be RyeSAC’s next vice-president student life and issues.

The third-year economics student, who is running unopposed, wants to keep a lot of things the same way, but also plans a few changes.

“I think it’s really important to push corporate sponsorship,” said Isber. “We get free samples and they give us money. It’s a win-win situation.”

Isber also wants to get better entertainment for the annual frosh picnic.

“Really my big thing this year is I’d like to get a big name band, more like Default, somebody a bit higher up the ladder,” he said.

Born in a small Ontario town, Isber worked as a ski instructor in the resort town of Banff, Alb. before coming to ryerson.

He also enjoys playing paintball.
