As Ryerson students, most of us can say that we’ve attended a Rams sporting event throughout our time on campus. As various athletes take the field, or the court, or the rink in their jerseys, have you ever stopped to think about what it takes for them to compete? We have, which is why we’ve created a video series, Rise of the Week.
Once a week, we take a look at the life of a Rams athlete. This week we were joined by Luka Lee, who took us through the soccer team’s maintenance workout.
Lee is an winger for the Ryerson Rams men’s soccer team. The fourth-year student from Toronto chooses to stay in shape by eating carefully, as a type 1 diabetic, as well as making sure every workout is done with the best form possible. He focuses on form to make sure that he is working each muscle properly and not building strength improperly. His diet during the season is based on keeping careful track of his carb intake and sugar intake, and making sure that he can keep a high level of energy to compete at the CIS level.
