Ryerson announced all classes will be closed on Jan. 28, 2019 due to the winter storm.
In a tweet, Ryerson University’s account announced all classes will be cancelled as of 6 p.m.
“Though it happens rarely, if severe weather conditions put the safety of the community at risk, the university may close operations,” according to Ryerson’s webpage on weather closures.
The account said classes will be cancelled even if professors have not yet alerted students.
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected in Toronto, according to The Weather Network.
The last time Ryerson closed due to a major snowfall was on Feb. 8, 2013, when it snowed more than 30 cm.
Any additional updates will be provided on Ryerson’s twitter account.
