Ryerson men’s hockey goalie Troy Passingham will be training with the Toronto Maple Leafs on April 4. Passingham announced the news on Twitter last night.
Get to practice tomorrow with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team I’ve cheered for all my life. Pretty excited

“It will be a great experience for Troy. Unfortunately they need Troy because they had injuries with their goalie and we’re glad we could help them out,” said Graham Wise, Ryerson Rams hockey head coach.
Passingham just finished his third season with the Rams, where he backstopped them to their best season in program history. He appeared in 20 games for Ryerson, going 11-7 with a 0.915 save percentage and 2.95 goals against average.
This isn’t the first time Passingham has been called up to the NHL. In March 2011, Passingham signed a one day contract with the Detroit Red Wings and backed up goaltender Jimmy Howard after injuries forced Chris Osgood out of the lineup.
