Bag O’ Crime: September 20, 1995

This week’s episode: Seedy Gaffitti

Staff from the Pheonix nightclub painted both sides of the Gould St. sidewalk early last Friday morning.

Security caught three thugs who were ravaging the sidewalk as an unsuspecting Ryerson slept.

Apparently, the suspects wanted to attract more first-year students who had not experienced a true shitty Toronto club.

Security guards said the sign, which read “Retroactive Fridays at the Phoenix”, was painted with a mop.

When approached by Rye’s finest, the vandals claimed they were Pheonix employees.

They were spared a spanking when they admitted the paint wasn’t temporary and is removed with water.

After being escorted off campus, the publicists-gone-wrong were told to stick to annoying students with flyers.
