Bag O’ Crime: October 25, 1995

B and E orgy

A car window was smashed and a suspect apprehended after a car on campus was broken into last Saturday morning.

The 2:30 a.m. incident occurred in the Victoria Street parking lot. Rye security just happened to be outside the parking lot, hearing the window’s cries for help. One bad guy was nabbed while the other got away in early ‘80s detective show fashion. Police were called in and the suspect was charged.

Alarm charm

Pitman Hall celebrated its 974th and 975th fires this semester (okay, maybe that’s a bit high). Last Monday, two consecutive fires in the residence had students taking the familiar fire routes. Some rez rats know the escape routes like their favourite Silver Chair song. The first fire alarm went wacky at 6:47 p.m. and the other went off 45 minutes later after a concentration of smoke in a basement parking lot.
