Bag O’ Crime: October 4, 1995

Needle-ess to say

Rye security found four hypodermic needles around the north side of 44-46 Gerrard Street in front of Rye’s Theatre School on September 29 at 9:45 a.m. The needles were removed and taken to the Ryerson Health Centre for disposal. Security warns that discarded syringe should not be touched, or eaten for that matter.

The Contractor Factor

Wacky contractors doing, well, contracting, drove a truck into a hand railing in the Interior West Quad on September 27. The 3:10 p.m. incident pissed off balance-challenged Ryerson students who actually had to go up stairs without hanging on to something. Good God, the horror. Physical Plant righted the wrong by removing the busted railing once and for all.

Lire Fire Crier

Ryerson almost broke the Canadian record for consecutive fires for one university. One September 27, everyone got their hopes up after a 3:10 p.m. fire call. However, the flowing champagne and the high-fives were premature as the blaze turned out to be nothing more than a lonely International Living Learning Centre alarm in need of some attention.
