“Friendliest and sexiest staff on Yonge St.”  Twelve different beers on tap, full bar, all kinds of music and food, 1/2–price wing nights, pool table.

The Barn/Stables

83 Granby St.

Mostly, but not exclusively, a gay bar.  Full bar, pool tables, pinball, video games, dance floors, mixed ages, leather and denim crowd, lots of DJs.  Original three-storey dance club.  Five-dollar cover on Fri., Sat., and Sun.  10pm-2am.

 

Ram in the Rye

The official Ryerson pub.  Cheap, comfy, and close to campus.

 

The Factory Pool and Cafe

Exotic shooters, two floors, wide variety of music, Hip Hop, top 40s dance Latin, Caribbean, dance floor, $4 pool during day and $5 at night, cheap food, wings, burgers, fries, great student hang-out.

 

Imperial Library Pub

54 Dundas St. E.

Draft beer: $4.10 to $4.70 per pint

Shot: $3.00 to $5.00

Mixed: $4.00

This wonderfully traditional pub is so retro that it has been used as a movie set.  It has been with Ryerson for 50 years.

 

Top O’ The Senator

249 Victoria St.

Draft Beer: $3.86 to $4.25 per half-pint

A funky but elegant club catering to a diverse crowd.

 

Hard Rock Cafe

283 Yonge St.

Beer: $4.05 to $5.25

You can listen to the Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand” being sung in Japanese, examine the rock and roll memorabilia covering the walls while you drink your beer.

Domestic, premium and imported beers, huge beer list, patio.  Nine different drafts on tap.  Gourmet grill restaurant with everything from steak and pasta to teriyaki and souvlaki.

 

Foster’s On Elm

31 Elm St.

Draft beer: $2.25 for 10oz.

British pub.  Imported and microbrewed beer.  “Best pub food in the city.”  Huge menu, reasonable prices, great sit-down, talking atmosphere, two floors, party room.

 

 Devil’s Advocate

655 Bay St.

Draft: $4.70-$5.75 per pint

Mixed: $4.60

Shots: $4.00

Burgundy carpets and brass railings make this Bay St. bar classy, but huge windows keep the atmosphere from sinking into English gloom.
