Before most students arrive at school last Friday morning, United Way volunteers were busy getting their pancake breakfast ready.
From 8 to 9:30 a.m., few students could avoid noticing the breakfast set up in Jorgenson Hall, the Business Building, Pitman Hall and the International Living/Learning Centre.
Ryerson president Claude Lajeunesse, United Way’s university and college chair, helped out wit the fund-raising breakfast, serving muffins and pancakes to hungry students and staff.
Lajeuneesse says universities raised more than $900,000 last year, with Ryerson contributing $1,500 from their pancake breakfast. He hopes the school topped that total last week.
