Who’s lazy? Who’s not?

A highly scientific study completed by The Eyeopener this week has revealed that business students are the most likely to be jocks at Ryerson.

For the 1997-98 varsity season, business had 36 athletes wearing the blue, white and gold of Ryerson.

“We have 3,000 students, which is the largest of any program at Ryerson,” business management associate dean Lee Maguire said.  “We’re bound to get lots of business students in sports.”

“Everything taught in business school involves teamwork, so it’s probably natural for them to be in these sports,” Maguire said

Dr. Marc Rosen of the dept. of mechanical engineering emphasized that his students are active – when it comes to engineering.

“No one enters the program for athletics alone,” said Dr. Rosen.  “These engineering programs are demanding in time and effort.”

Theatre and Justice Studies were the only programs without an athlete.
