Students and staff filled the Jorgenson Hall Commons Sept. 22 as president Claude Lajeunesse delivered his first state of the university address.
The speech was an effort to communicate with the Ryerson community, as mandated in the president’s renewed contract last year.
Throughout the hour-long monologue, Lajeunesse boasted about the university’s accomplishments.
Not everyone had good reviews for him, though. Jennifer Welsh, director of Ryerson’s school of nutrition, said there should be a question period in future addresses.
Lajeunesse says he does not plan to change the format of future university addresses, which will happen every September.
