Women’s hockey loses close in season finale

By Josh Beneteau

The Ryerson Rams lost a close 3-2 game to the Brock Badgers to finish their season on Sunday.

“We came out flying, we had pressure and a there was a couple bad bounces for us,” said captain Nella Brodett. “I think we played amazing it was a great way to [end] the season even without the win.

Stephanie Chiste and Mackenzie Manning scored for the Rams. They also outshot the Badgers 34-27.

“I saw the puck pop out in front and I thought I would shoot it and see what happens,” said Chiste.

Regardless of the result, the Rams said they saw a lot of positives in this game that they can take as they start preparing for next season.

“We’ve had a lot of close games this year that we had opportunities to win and weren’t able to,” said Head Coach Lisa Haley. “Hopefully next year in those tight games we will be able to come out on the better side.”
