Rams on the road: men’s soccer clinches first place in OUA east

The Ryerson men’s soccer team (12-3-0) beat the Laurentian Voyageurs 2-1 Saturday to secure first place in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) east division.

This means that the team gets a bye in the first round of the playoffs and will host a playoff game next weekend.

Kyle Stewart got the Rams on the board early with a goal in the 15th minute. Laurentian tied it up early in the second half before Raheem Rose put Ryerson back in front in the 78th.

Ryerson will play their final game of the season Sunday against Nipissing.

Women’s soccer loses, misses playoffs

The Ryerson women’s soccer team (5-9-1) lost 1-0 to the Laurentian Voyageurs Saturday, officially ending their chances at a playoff spot.

Amanda Kwan scored for Laurentian in the 58th minute to get her team the win.

The loss put Ryerson four points behind Laurentian for the final playoff spot. They will play their final game of the season Sunday against Nipissing.
