Painting contractor to foot the bill for Gould Street repaving

By Jackie Hong

The repaving of Gould Street will not be paid for by Ryerson or the city but instead, by the contractor that painted the road, The Eyeopener has learned.

“The vendor has agreed to beat the costs of scraping and repaving Gould Street. As much, there will be no cost to taxpayers,” Ryerson University’s media relations manager Michael Forbes told The Eyeopener Thursday night.

The Eyeopener had previously reported that the cost of repaving Gould Street would be paid for by the City of Toronto after being told so by Ryerson administration. We regret any confusion this caused.

More to come.
