Ryerson men’s soccer midfielder Martin Dabrowski was named a Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) second-team all-star Wednesday night.
The fourth-year business management student dressed in 11 and appeared in 13 of Ryerson’s 16 games this season.
He picked up one goal in the playoffs; the game winner in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) quarterfinal against UOIT.
“It’’s a great accomplishment and I’m proud with the year that I had individually,” Dabrowski said. “But I would trade any individual award for the chance to be in the national tournament.”
The men’s soccer team lost last Saturday in the OUA final four semi-final to the McMaster Mauraders. In the process, they missed a chance to qualify for the CIS national championship which is being held this weekend in Prince Edward Island.
Dabrowski was one of six Rams named OUA all-stars. Goalkeeper Christian Maraldo, strikers Marko Miketic and Viktor Anastasov, and Dabrowksi were named first-team all-stars. Defenders Josh Kohn and Kyle Stewart were named to the OUA second-team.
