As Ryerson students, most of us can say that we’ve attended a Rams sporting event throughout our time on campus. As various athletes take the field, or the court, or the rink, have you ever stopped to think about what it takes for them to compete? We have, which is why we’ve created Rise of the Week.
Once a week, we take a look at the life of a Rams athlete. This week we were joined by Justine Glover, who took us through her workout as a member of the women’s hockey team.
Glover is an defenseman for the Ryerson Rams women’s hockey team and studies food and nutrition. The fourth-year student from Wasaga Beach chooses to stay in shape by eating carefully, as well as making sure every workout is done with the best form possible. She focuses on agility and endurance workouts to ensure that she can play well defensively throughout an entire game. Her diet during the season consists of light pregame meals that help her to acquire the proper amounts of nutrition while not filling her stomach before the physical activity of a CIS level hockey game.
