Ontario Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Eleanor McMahon, made an announcement on March 28 that the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, which is hosted at Ryerson, will be a recipient of the province’s Cultural Attractions Fund.
The fund supports 45 art and cultural events that celebrate culture and heritage. The festival is now the world’s largest photography event and with the province’s Cultural Attractions Fund, it will feature Canadian photography at over 200 exhibitions across the Toronto area and is expected to attract over 1 million visitors.
According to a press release, “Ryerson will also serve as a festival hub to help guide our audience of over 1 million visitors and our over 180,000 tourists from around the world.”
