Some course unions have separate frosh-related activities planned. Check in with your course union to find out more, but here’s a little sample:
ARCHITECTURE The Architecture Course Union has a full day planned for Sep. 2nd. “We’ll be breaking up into teams and competing in embarassing games all morning, and after some free lunch we’ll be doing a city-wide Amazing Race- style event,” says President Dave Stone. Architecture-related prizes will be given away, including a drafting table.
JOURNALISM The Journalism course union has events lined up throughout frosh week. In addition to information sessions, j-skoolers can look foward to a tour of CBC headquarters, an appearance on Much on Demand, an all-ages pub night at Reilly’s Pub, and a scavenger hunt.
COMMERCE The Ryerson Commerce Society is having an Apprentice-themed frosh week, based on the reality TV series starring Donald Trump. “At the end of the week, we’ll crown both a male and female apprentice,” says Vice President Mike McKenna. When not competing for the crown, Commerce frosh will enjoy free lunch daily, a boat cruise, scavenger hunt, and a Blue Jays game.
IMB The ITM Student Association is hosting a photo scavenger hunt Aug. 31 at 3:00 p.m. in the ITM hallway (KHW, 3rd floor). The hunt kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and ends with a dinner at 5 p.m. Here’s what their website says: “If you like fun, want to meet other ITM students, and meet some older students, consider coming out. There is a limited number of spots, and it will be on a first come, first serve basis.”
