Event Recap: Parade and Picnic

On Friday, September 10 about 1000 students marched down Yonge Street and ferried over to Toronto Island to indulge in a free afternoon of live entertainment and barbecued meats (and pseudo meats for the vegetarians). Your's truly was there to check it out. Here's a rundown of what you may have missed.

Quidditch in the quad

Inspired by the Harry Potter books, Muggle Quidditch is a sport that is growing all across the globe and especially in university sports. A cross between manhunt, dodge ball and basketball, Muggle Quidditch is an extremely physically demanding sport that requires some athleticism to play. Perhaps surprisingly, it is a contact co-ed sport with full body tackles. If you are interested in joining Ryerson's team, practices are every Sunday from 4-6 p.m. in the quad and everyone is welcome to come out and play.

Student dies in sleep
