North by Northeast festival set to roll

By Adrian Josiukas

Toronto’s major music festival of the summer, North by Northeast is ready to begin. The three-day event takes place between June 15th and 17th and will invade many of the city’s clubs and bars. NXNE will showcase over 300 bands from around the world; many of them being homegrown Canadians. The provincial government has even extended last call to two a.m. to accommodate concert-goers. Some prominent Canucks that will bask in the spotlight include Crash Vegas, Carole Pope, Glueleg, Rheostatics, Pursuit of Happiness, and Muchmusic’s own Sook-Yin Lee.
