The streak is over!
Last Saturday the York Yeomen won their first game since 1988, beating the Windsor Lancers 18-8 at the new Sports Event Field on the York campus.
The victory snapped the Yeoman’s losing streak at 47 games, a Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union record. Although the Yeomen had won two exhibition games in recent years, this was their first regular season victory since they edged the Waterloo Warriors 20-19 back in 1988.
The victory puts the Yeomen in the middle of the fight for the last playoff spot in the OUAA. York is tied with Waterloo, Windsor and Toronto, all having 1-2 records.
