By Jennifer Costa

October is the month of change. It comes just after the dust has settled from the move back to the big city and the school groove. First, there’s that little cold nip in the air then, the leaves begin to fall, then, Thanksgiving dinner. Later on, you get to look forward to the big treat: Hallowe’en. The first of few breaks in the school year.

Fall also brings the 13th Annual ESP Psychic Expo, October 20 – October 22, taking a close look at “the World’s Second Oldest Profession.” A wide variety of Reincarnationists, Astrologers, Palmists and Clairvoyants are gathered from all across North America for those eager to understand the unknown, the past, the future or just a bit more about themselves. It offers such services as psychic demos and readings, astrological chartings, past-life readings, and aura photos; not to mention books on the paranormal, jewellery, crystal balls, tarot cards and runes.

This year’s special events features a UFO and Alien Symposium, on Friday October 20 at 8 p.m. The main attraction is a panel of people who have been abducted by aliens and scientific expert to talk about their experiences, share their knowledge and give an analysis of the whole UFO phenomenon. John Robert Colombo, dubbed “Canada’s Mr. Mystery” is chair of UFO and Alien panel. His latest book “UFO’s over Canada” is a collection of sightings, abductions, landings, encounters and channellings. There are three guests who are actual contactees. Joyce Halfin had her first experience with aliens at the age of six. She will be speaking on “The Contactee Experience” on Saturday, October 21 and on Sunday, October 22 at 4 p.m. Kathy Roseborough has been in contact with aliens since the 1960’s and has received “channelled writings” from them since the late 1980’s. She works as a clairvoyant and as a spiritual healer. CUFORN, the Canadian UFO Research Network is represented by Larry Fenwick, himself having five encounters with space beings. He has dealt with UFO sightins and encounters for the past forty-five years. He also taught Introductory Ufology and Humber College. The last two guests are Michael J. Woods, a newswriter at City-TV and also an independent UFO researcher and Mark Lewis, a stage hypnotist whose audience participants experience a trip to Mars, to learn and experience Martian culture.
