All Communities Roots and Culture

“Olé! Olé!”

Despite that their hired Peruvian dancers crashing their car on Danforth Ave., the Latin American Students Association of Ryerson (LASAR) managed to commemorate Columbus day in true Sombrero style.

Clair Hurtubise, LASAR’s president and co-founder explained that LASAR is commemorating Columbus day as an important date in their culture, but “we are not celebrating the genocide of the indigenous people… we are exposing the Latin American culture.”

If you would like to join LASAR, leave a note in their mailbox at RyeSAC, or drop them a line at lasar@acs.ryerson.ca.
