NTN Trivia, Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Fridays, pool tables, video games, CD jukebox, licensed patio, great beer prices, friendly staff and all your friends. Sounds like a great place to be, right? Well, it is Ryerson’s own Edge pub. On any given afternoon the pub is full of regular patrons playing NTN, drinking beer or the ever-popular Snapple Ice Tea (not everyone drinks alcohol), playing pool and generally having a great time.
To everyone who thinks the Edge is slowing down, you couldn’t be more wrong. You just haven’t shown up to see some of the great event we have. The first pub night of the year we were packed to capacity and beyond. Course unions and cultural events are a blast, just ask the Latin American students who had a great time kicking up their heels dancing at The Edge. The night of Tony Lee X-Rated Hypnotist was a house full of steam bodies having fun laughing at their friends as they fell under Tony’s spell.
So I dare all those who haven’t visited The Edge yet, to get your butt on down to the pub — located in room A-50 Jorgenson Hall (just down the hall from the RyeSAC office and across from The Eyeopener), in case you don’t know where we are — and challenge the pool sharks, play your own music on the jukebox, see how smart you are by playing NTN, enjoy the last days of summer on the sunny patio and have a beer and chat with the staff. You too will make The Edge your home away from class, like all the other folks who enjoy what The Edge offers every day.
And yes, this was written by an Edge employee who has worked at the pub for three years and loves her job, The Edge, the fun, and all the regulars!
