Rams lose two top v-ball players to poor grades

By the Sports Team

Two of Ryerson’s highly touted rookie recruits have been suspended from the women’s volleyball team because of failing grades.

Alisha Myatt, Ryerson’s most talented female volleyball player was scratched from the Rams lineup against Lakehead University last weekend because her academic appeal was denied. Myatt was considered a strong candidate for OUA rookie of the year honours.

Liv Langkruis was also suspended because of failing grades. Both players were first-year students in the Diploma Arts program (considered an equivalent to high school OAC courses).

Heading into last weekend’s games Ryerson was only one game behind Lakehead for the final playoff spot. But without Myatt and Langkruis in the lineup, the Rams lost both of their games against Lakehead and their playoff hopes are over.
