THANKS, COWARD(S)

John Mather

Editor-in-Chief

Someone had to say it.

The Eyeopener: The disgrace of Ryerson. Has a nice ring to it, no?

I am going to make it the paper’s new slogan.

Some cowards, or maybe just one, went around campus last week putting up the poster to the right (minus my corrections).

It’s pretty hilarious that someone would spend the time and money to put these up, and then not put his or her name on it.

Actually, it’s a bit of a waste.

It’s a nice poster: good variety of font sizes, a solid effort at spelling, and the point is crystal clear.

No, the Eyeopener is not the public image Ryerson is hoping to portray — the school has a gigantic public relations machine that takes care of that. We are the newspaper of the students.

And students swear, fornicate, do drugs and, at times, contemplate suicide.

Of course not all students wallow in a moral cesspool, but those who don’t can read the Ryersonian.

If you ever have a problem with anything we write, then e-mail, call or stop by SCC 207. Myself and the other editors always want feedback from students. And we also have the decency to attach our names to our work.

If you still want to go around and stick up anonymous posters, go ahead. I need constant validation.
