Howard Stern fans hold vigil outside Hard Rock

By Erika Tustin

Mike Sydney (right), a 1983 Ryerson journalism graduate and Dave Black (left) gathered signatures at the reopening of the Hard Rock Café to protest Q107’s decision to replace Howard Stern as the morning show host. Sydney quietly walked the street with a large picture of Stern outside the hard Rock on Monday. On the back, a statement to the public read “F-Q107.” The station’s brass felt DJ John Derringer is a better fit for the classic rock station. “Howard Stern tells it like it is,” says Sydney. “Derringer is just a copy of the Howard Stern show.”
