UR Vision grabs board of governors seats

By Eyeopener Staff

For the second straight year, the slate UR Vision swept the board of governor elections, winning all three student positions.

The slate’s candidates, Khatera Noor, Curtis Yim and Darren Shivraj, got 907, 763 and 660 votes, respectively. Shivraj had five more than incoming Ryerson Students’ Union president Melissa Palermo, who had 655. Rajean Hoilett, who will be the RSU’s vice-president equity next year, came in fifth with 443 votes.

UR Vision’s platform includes creating more multi-faith space on campus and extending library hours to 24 hours.

Only 6.3 per cent of the more than 32 thousand eligible voters voted.

More to come.
