In tweets: RSU Parade and Picnic recap

By Nicole Schmidt

Ryerson students gathered in the quad bright and early this morning for the 54th annual Ryerson Students’ Union (RSU) Parade and Picnic. Together, they set off on a journey. A journey to find Nas, who headlined the concert.

From the quad, they headed down Yonge Street, disrupting traffic and taking over pedestrian walkways in the process.

In recent years, the concert portion of the Parade and Picnic has been held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, but this year it took place on the Toronto Island. Students piled onto a ferry to make the trek across Lake Ontario.

After arriving on the island, students made their way to the stage in anticipation for performances from Unbuttoned, Canadian Juno award winning singer/songwriter, Anjulie, Jillionaire, from the electronic music project, Major Lazer, and of course, Nas. Unbuttoned was first to take the stage.

Next up was Anjulie.

After Anjulie wrapped up her performance, Jillionaire stepped into the spotlight for his 15 minutes of fame.

And finally, after much anticipation, Nas made an appearance.
