Committee members say they’ve been advised by Ryerson’s number crunchers to increase tuition in deregulated programs, like computer science, engineering and other professional programs, by $300. Administrators emphasize that’s a small increase, compared to some universities.

The recently announced provincial performance fund, which splits $16.5-million among universities according to how each performs in three categories, rewards schools that produce successful graduates.

Ryerson president Claude Lajeunesse said there has been no progress since the E-mail, which outlined the university’s interest in the Gardens for “classroom and residence space and a permanent home for [Ryerson’s] hockey team.” But neither he nor Grayson ruled out the possibility that future plans could include Ryerson.
